Photography FAQs

We encourage everyone to reserve their photography packages in advance. The Gardens Photography Package can be purchased upon arrival, but availability is not guaranteed. Walk-up photography groups will be charged an additional $25 fee.

Depending on availability additional time or additional admissions may be available for an additional fee. Please reach out to Connor Kilian, Sales and Membership Manager at photography@longuevue.com or call (504) 293-4726 Tuesday – Saturday, 9:00AM – 5:00PM to inquire about custom packages.

Visitors are expected to bring their own photographer for their session.

All photography at Longue Vue occurs outside. Only the Special Occasion package has access to an indoor space and is limited to the Whim House.

Use of drones is prohibited on Longue Vue’s campus.

If your party meets at least two of the above criteria, then you will be required to purchase a photography package. If you are uncertain, then please contact us at photography@longuevue.com or call (504) 293-4726 Tuesday – Saturday, 9:00AM – 5:00PM. Longue Vue staff reserve the right to determine when an individual or party meets the criteria that requires the purchase of a photography package.

The first reschedule is complimentary with no questions asked. Additional reschedule requests will incur a fee of $50. Rescheduling due to inclement weather will not incur a fee.

Photography Package Criteria

Photography at Longue Vue

Longue Vue is a stunning setting in all seasons, and we encourage our visitors to photograph their experiences while participating in programs and touring the house and gardens. This type of casual photography does not require purchase of a photography package. Share your photos on social media and be sure to follow and tag Longue Vue: Longue Vue House and Gardens on Facebook and @longuevuehg on Instagram.

Visitors are required to purchase a photography package if any two of the following criteria are met:

  • Intent: The main reason for your visit is to use Longue Vue as a subject or background for photography.
  • Designated Photographer: At least one member of your party is designated as the photographer.
  • Photography Equipment: Use of photography-related equipment including but not limited to multiple cameras, lenses, tripods, lights, and reflectors.
  • Props, Costumes, or Multiple Outfits: Arrival at Longue Vue with props and materials specifically for photography (please see guidelines for prohibited items). One or more members of your party arrive wearing, or plan to change into, special costumes such as gowns, suits, matching clothing, etc. One or more members of your party plan to have multiple outfits which requires a space to change.

Longue Vue staff reserve the right to determine when an individual or party meets the criteria that requires the purchase of a photography package.

Commercial photography that will be used in a publication or used to promote a brand, service or product requires special permissions and fees. Please send inquiries to photography@longuevue.com or call (504) 293-4723 Monday – Friday.

Filming requests must be submitted to Laren Holzer, Director of Sales and Membership via email at lholzer@longuevue.com at least 30 days in advance.
