Introducing the Vue Crew, Longue Vue’s student garden club!

Students ages 5-10 can spend Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at Longue Vue learning about plants and insects, seeding and pruning, playing games, making nature-themed art, and freely exploring the gardens.

Enrollment is strictly limited to 12 students per session. Safety protocols based on CDC recommendations and city and state mandates will be observed at all times.

DAYS AND TIMES:
Tuesdays and Thursdays*, 3:30PM-5:30PM

*The final meeting for Session 4 will be held on Wednesday, December 23 from 10AM to 12PM

 

PRICE:
$200 per session
$180 per session for members or siblings

CURRICULUM:

November at Vue Crew will include discussion of environmental issues and different climates and gardening techniques around the world.

             Planned Lesson Topics/Activities:

    • Deforestation and Trees / Seed trees in small pots, keep in greenhouse, take home at the end of the session
    • Waste Management and the 3 Rs / Make art projects using “trash”
    • Deserts and Plants / Repot succulent cuttings with sandy soil
    • Japanese Zen Gardens / Make small terrariums with sand and simulated bonsai trees
