Children’s Programs

Longue Vue is committed to fostering growth, education, creativity, and exploration

through seasonal programs in the gardens and historic house.

We offer programs for toddlers with their parent or caregiver, elementary school students,

and adolescents up to age 15.

Ages 5 and under:


  • Children under 5 and their parents/caretakers meet in our interactive Discovery Garden for early childhood enrichment, free play, garden exploration, and guided learning through craft, song, and other group activities.

Ages 5 to 10:


  • Students will spend their Saturdays learning about gardening techniques, making nature-based art, and exploring their connection to the natural world. Each meeting will have a seasonal theme.

  • School’s out! Students ages 5 to 10 can spend days off from school at Longue Vue making nature-themed crafts, learning gardening techniques, and exploring our interactive Discovery Garden. Our upcoming 2022 holiday camps include Harvest Camp and Winter Solstice Camp.

Ages 10 to 15:


  • Archival research, public speaking, and collections management are just a few of the skills that students ages 10-15 develop in this two-part course. Graduates qualify to lead public tours and assist with community programs at Longue Vue.
