Longue Vue is committed to fostering growth, education, creativity, and exploration
through seasonal programs in the gardens and historic house.
We offer programs for toddlers with their parent or caregiver, elementary school students,
and adolescents up to age 16.

Ages 5 and under:
SPROUTS
Children under 5 and their parents/caretakers meet in our interactive Discovery Garden for early childhood enrichment, free play, garden exploration, and guided learning through craft, song, and other group activities.

Ages 5 to 10:
VUE CREW KIDS GARDEN CLUB
Students will spend their Saturdays learning about gardening techniques, making nature-based art, and exploring their connection to the natural world. Each meeting will have a seasonal theme.

DISCOVERY GARDEN CAMPS
School’s out! Students ages 5 to 10 can spend school breaks at Longue Vue making nature-themed crafts, learning gardening techniques, and exploring our interactive Discovery Garden.

Summer ‘Scapes
7 Weekly Sessions: Monday, June 5 – Friday, June 30/Monday, July 10 – Friday, July 28
Longue Vue’s Summer ‘Scapes Camp is a space for kids to learn, explore, and play! Each week, we will delve into a different theme related to nature, science, or art.

Harvest Camp
Monday, November 21 – Wednesday, November 23
Celebrate the beautiful season of fall with us at Longue Vue! Children are invited to join our garden educators for fall-themed crafts and garden education. Learn, grow, and play in our Discovery Garden this fall break!
Camp will be held Monday, November 20 through Wednesday, November 22, 2023, 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM.

Winter Solstice Camp
Monday, December 19 – Friday, December 23
Spend winter break days at Longue Vue! Campers can learn and play in our Discovery Garden and Education Center. Garden educators will provide seasonal and garden-themed crafts, activities, and games for children ages 5-10 at this awesome winter camp.

Ages 11 to 16:
SUMMER JUNIOR VOLUNTEER DAYS
Wednesdays 10AM – 3PM – June 28, July, 5, 12, 19, 26
Students will help Longue Vue’s curator with ongoing projects in the house and gardens including archival work, small level of collections maintenance, organization, and basic research. Volunteer hours meet community service hour requirements.

MUSEUM STUDIES CAMPS
Do you have a budding historian, curator, archivist, or guide in your house? Do they always want to know what is behind the closed doors every time they go to a museum? Designed for students ages 11-16 who want to learn about a museum from the inside out.
Week 1: Junior Historians
Monday, June 5 – Friday, June 9, 9AM – 3PM
Do you have a budding historian, archivist, or guide in your house? Do they always want to know what is behind the closed doors every time they go to a museum? Come and learn about a museum from the inside. Students will learn about the importance of collections care, archives, and how to present information on tours.
