Historical Gastronomist Sarah Lohman is visiting Longue Vue to speak about her new book, Eight Flavors: The Untold Story of American Cuisine. In her book, Lohman uses eight different popular ingredients in American cooking to talk about American history, as well as Americans themselves. In this talk, Lohman will focus on three flavors with a connection to Southern cuisine: Curry Powder, Chili Powder, and Garlic. There will be a book signing and small reception with a sampling of food using the three flavors after the lecture. Books will be available for purchase. We hope to see you there!

Tickets are $10 for members, $15 for non-members. Advance registration required.
