…to all of our sponsors, patrons, featured speakers, musicians, caterers, vendors,
and other individuals who helped us make our 2022 Design Symposium vision a reality!
For more than 30 years the Design Symposium has celebrated the art of design through expert presentations on interior and exterior spaces and the intersection between the two. This year, the Design Symposium successfully returned to the historic grounds of Longue Vue, where for the past 100 years the family home of Edith & Edgar Stern has been used to promote creative expression, civic engagement, and lifelong learning. Funds raised in our historic setting, lush with our captivating collections of Spring blooms, will support the Discovery Garden for children, a key focus of Longue Vue’s Centennial Renewal campaign.
The Longue Vue Discovery Garden is a half-acre wonderland filled with native plants, a sensory herb maze, a turtle habitat, a worm dig, and many other exhibits that encourage experiential learning in an outdoor setting. Garden educators lead programs for toddlers to teens and host field trips serving hundreds of local students each year.
Today’s children need safe, outdoor spaces for learning and engagement more than ever! We are thrilled that this year’s Symposium will support upgrades and enhancements to the Discovery Garden, a unique and meaningful resource for local families and schools.
