A Juried LGBTQ+ Young Artist Showcase
Longue Vue House and Gardens presents its first
juried exhibition for local young adult LGBTQ+
artists. This art showcase is presented in conjunction
with the 3rd annual Family Equality day, and will
run throughout New Orleans Pride Month.
June 1, 2018 – June 30, 3018
inQueery will be held from June 1 to June 30, 2018 in the
Modern Art Gallery within the Longue Vue house.
An Opening Reception will be held on Friday June 8th
from 5:30 – 7:00pm.
Work will be on display to museum guests throughout
the month, including exclusive exposure during
Family Equality Day on June 10th.
May 14th: Deadline for all complete submissions
May 21st: All applicants notified on the status of their acceptance
May 28th: Deadline to deliver accepted work to Longue Vue
June 1st: Exhibit opens to the public
June 8th: Opening Reception from 5:30 – 7:00pm
June 10th: Family Equality Day
June 30th: Exhibit Closes
July 6th: Deadline for all work to be picked up

What are the eligibility requirements?
To be eligible for the art showcase, the artist must be a LGBTQ+ identifying youth ages 16 -24, and reside in Orleans or Jefferson Parishes. Please note this is a juried exhibition, all entries are not guaranteed acceptance.
All complete submissions must be received by May 4th, 2018.
What are the submission requirements?
- All artwork must be created within the last calendar year
- Artists may not submit more than 3 pieces of art
- All 2D media will be considered within the following perimeters:
- Must be ready to hang with appropriate hanging devices
- Charcoal and pastel works must be sprayed and fixed
How do I submit artwork?
To submit your work, please email high-quality digital images (jpg or png) of no more than 3 selections, along with a list including: title, medium, year, and dimensions of each.
Include in your email a short artist statement that discusses your inspirations and motivations.

What are the delivery details?
Once approved, all selected works must be delivered to Longue Vue on ore before May 23rd. Please direct all deliveries to Lenora Costa, Curator. You may bet in touch with her at firstname.lastname@example.org or 504.293.4712.
What if something happens to my artwork?
Every precaution will be taken to assure protection of your artwork. Longue Vue does not assume responsibility for works left after the pickup deadline of July 6th.
