Since 1991, the Friends of Longue Vue have presented the Essence of Style
Design Symposium, featuring top speakers in the fields of design,
horticulture and art.
With proceeds benefiting Longue Vue House and Gardens, the symposia
serve to inspire and educate locals interested in interior design while providing
a significant source of funds toward maintenance, operations, educational
programs, and art exhibitions of a National Historic Landmark.
Thursday November 2nd | 5:00pm – 7:00pm
Longue Vue House and Gardens | Catering by Brennan’s
The symposium begins with an opportunity to savor Longue Vue after hours, meet the
speakers, and network amongst fine food and drink. In addition to great company,
there will be an opportunity to go home with something special.
We invite you to join us for the designer reception. It is a wonderful way to experience
Longue Vue as a gathering place for community, fun, and in celebration of education
and the arts. We hope to see you there!
LUNCHEON & LECTURE
Friday, November 3rd | 10:00am – 2:00pm
The Cannery | Catering by Brennan’s
We are thrilled to welcome Richard Keith Langham, acclaimed interior designer and new
author, as our keynote speaker. Keith will showcase his master designs in a presentation
titled, “Other People’s Rooms.”
This year, we also are pleased to host a second dynamic speaker. Antique textile designer,
Rebecca Vizard joins us and will discuss the art of pillow and accessory making from
her new book, “Once Upon a Pillow.”
Becoming a symposium sponsor is a smart way to gain exposure to
an audience that is interested in interior and landscape, and has
discerning taste and a sophisticated aesthetic. It is an excellent
opportunity to give back to our city through community and
education programs at Longue Vue, while reaching new customers.
