Tickets & Tours

Longue Vue is open Monday through Saturday from 9:30AM to 5PM for visits and guided tours. Tours are scheduled upon check-in, on a first-come, first-served basis and based on availability. The last tours of the day start at 4PM.

The first Friday of every month brings a special opportunity to tour the gardens with Amy Graham, Director of Gardens, and the family home and auxiliary structures with Lenora Costa, Curator and Historian. Click here to register for a First Friday Tour.

On the first Sunday of each month, Longue Vue opens to offer free garden admission to all Louisiana families from 1PM to 5PM. Click here to register for next month’s Free Family Sunday event in the gardens.

Set your own pace on a self-guided stroll through the gardens and grounds, bring a picnic to enjoy under the shade of the majestic Oak Allée, or explore the interactive children’s Discovery Garden.

ADMISSION & GUIDED TOUR (HOUSE OR GARDENS)

Our guided tour of the gardens includes both horticultural and historical information and insights into eight acres of Ellen Shipman-designed gardens.

Our guided tour of the main house lets visitors see the rooms that hosted lively discussions that influenced education, healthcare and the arts in 20th century New Orleans. House is furnished with the original collections of 18th and 19th century antiques, textiles, and ceramic collection. The tour includes the exhibit Longue Vue: A Love Story, in the former kitchen of the family home, now a formal exhibit space.

ADMISSION & COMBINATION TOUR (HOUSE AND GARDENS)

Enjoy the full Longue Vue experience with our guided tour of the main house and surrounding gardens lets visitors learn how the Sterns used their uniquely designed home to enjoy the interiors and exteriors harmoniously. The tour includes the exhibit Longue Vue: A Love Story.

$25 per person; FREE for annual members

All tickets are non-refundable; reservations can be rescheduled with a minimum 24-hour notice.

Longue Vue currently requires all guests to wear a mask while visiting any interior spaces on our campus. This includes tours of our historic house museum, checking in with our staff at the Gate House, shopping in our Museum Store and Visitor Center, or while making a purchase at Edith & Edgar’s Museum Cafe. Masks must also be worn inside our Whim House and Playhouse, including for private bookings. We also ask that guests continue to wash and sanitize hands regularly, social distance when appropriate, and not visit Longue Vue if they are feeling sick.
