During a year-long residency in the Longue Vue gardens, Jakilah Mason has sought to honor African diasporic culinary and medicinal practices and to reveal cultural connectedness through food and growing.
Join Jakilah for a culminating garden tour on Sunday, June 6 from 10AM to 11:30AM, highlighting the ways in which African diasporic peoples and philosophies have influenced western food and medicine. The tour will cover the entire grounds, with special focus on Jakilah’s Afro Gardens in the Discovery Garden and East Lawn.
