Volunteering at Longue Vue

Volunteering at Longue Vue presents a unique opportunity to learn new skills, spend time behind-the-scenes of the historic house and gardens, and join a diverse and vibrant community. Volunteers have a tremendous impact on Longue Vue and we welcome their friendly faces, wide ranging skills, and boundless enthusiasm.

As a volunteer you will receive free admission for the day(s) you volunteer, recognition on the Longue Vue website and newsletter, and an invitation to the annual volunteer recognition event. High school students can receive verification of hours worked if the volunteer opportunity is approved by the school.

Garden Volunteers: Give and Grow

Garden Volunteers meet every Thursday from 8:30AM to 10:30AM, and every second Saturday from 9AM to 11AM.  Volunteers work alongside the garden staff on large projects which are vital to Longue Vue’s survival!  Projects include weeding, planting, mulching, sweeping, raking, soil building and more.

Please register to volunteer by date by using the link below. For additional information including “no stooping” or low impact volunteer opportunities like seed packet stuffing, contact Director of Gardens Amy Graham at agraham@longuevue.com.

Junior Garden Volunteers

Designed specifically for middle and high school students! Bring your own drinks, gloves, sunscreen, and hat and come dig alongside the garden staff in the beautiful eight-acres of Longue Vue’s historic gardens during school breaks. We have projects for all levels of experience – including the first time gardener! Students may earn service hours for school by volunteering.

Our Junior Garden Volunteer opportunities have concluded for the summer! Check back in the fall for future Junior Garden Volunteer opportunities, or contact Director of Gardens Amy Graham at agraham@longuevue.com with inquiries about this program.
