Longue Vue is pleased to announce our new Legacy Society.

Established in 2025 through the generosity of Mark Brown, Stephen Brint, Melissa Schechter, and Dr. Michael White, as well as an anonymous local donor, the Longue Vue Legacy Society is envisioned as a network of individual and institutional stakeholders who plan long-term gifts to Longue Vue.

Legacy Society gifts may include estate bequests, multi-year grants and pledges, retirement distributions, and non-cash assets and are designated for historic preservation. Taken together, these long-term investments are building a solid foundation for our mission: to preserve and share a legacy of design, community, and lifelong learning.

Longue Vue is the result of creative vision, commitment to community, and a thoughtfully planned gift. In 1936, Edith and Edgar Stern decided that at the end of their lives – whenever that might be – their remarkable family estate must become a public resource. When Edith passed away in 1980, the home became a public garden and nonprofit museum.

In keeping with this legacy, Longue Vue strives to share our gardens and serve our broader community each day. Continual preservation is essential to this vision. Legacy Society gifts are designated for the long-term historic preservation of Longue Vue.

No gift or pledge is too small to be a meaningful part of the Longue Vue Legacy Society.

Please contact Executive Director Baty Landis at sblandis@longuevue.com or (504) 330-1193 to discuss your own planned gift.

Longue Vue is excited to invite all current Legacy Society members to this year’s reception on Wednesday, October 14, 5:00PM, as part of Stern Legacy Week. RSVP at amorici@longuevue.com.
